Despite oxygen-free copper (OFC) being notoriously difficult to machine process, the WM1ZM2 features a gold-plated copper chassis.

Thick KIMBER KABLE from the American Hi-Fi manufacturer is used to transmit signal where possible, helping shut out external noise, transmit high quality audio signals and achieve powerful and smooth sound quality.

Various DSP tweaks can still be implemented in Sony's custom Walkman software, including DSD Remastering Engine, DSEE Ultimate upsampling and DC Phase Lineariser.
