My AirPods Pro 2 were stolen, and I couldn't stomach paying the same amount of money to get a replacement pair. I was also itching for another reason to visit Zeppelin & Co, anyway. I headed to the store to try out a number of wireless TWS buds (really recommend coming to the cafe, as the helpful staff let you try different models and even recommend options to try) and settled on the TWX7s.
I fell in love with these! The frequency response sounded more neutral than your typical consumer buds, which I like, but if you want a more "exciting" sound, the Audio Technica Connect app allows you to customise the EQ to your liking. The sound is also quite detailed and I love listening to the percussion on my favourite math rock tracks on these.
One thing to note is that the maximum volume is not very loud - it's not an issue for me as I think the volume makes for easy listening over long periods of work, but it's something to consider if you love blasting music at rave-like volumes. These work very well if you listen to a lot of rock, in my opinion. If you're a basshead, you may want to look elsewhere.
The design is beautiful, and I love the choice of materials as well as the presence of physical buttons. As someone who wears earphones to the gym, I hate touch panels and designs that fall off when I'm on the treadmill. These earbuds fit snugly, are light and comfortable, and thanks to physical buttons are easy to control and not sensitive to sweat. (There are also touch panels available, but I've turned them off.)
I also like the noise-reducing microphones, and I had a good experience in calls with the combination of clear microphones and low latency. The TWX7s even have some advanced features. I think multipoint works well, and you can manage multipoint devices on the app (I absolutely hated having to guess which device my old AirPods connected to when I pull them out of the case).
The active noise cancelling is decent, too. It's not as good as the AirPods Pro's, which sound like total silence, but it's good enough for riding the MRT. I should also note that hear-through mode (which I think is the equivalent of other brands' Transparency mode) is practically useless.
Overall, I recommend them highly, especially for the price. I think you can't go wrong with these; however, if you love boosted bass or want the best noise cancelling, there may be better options.
