Product Description

Through multiple rounds of simulation and prototyping with MDR-MV1's 40mm dynamic driver, Sony derived a low-distortion, high-compliance diaphragm shape with corrugation.

An acoustic resistor is used over as large an area as possible to eliminate spatial resonance, for optimal control of airflow in front of and at the back of the driver.

MDR-MV1's open-back structure with rear ducts realises sufficient volume and quick and tight low-range reproduction while maintaining the separation between the mid-range and low range.

Reflected sound inside these affordable open-back Sonys is reduced, lowering user fatigue and increasing accuracy. In this way this critical listening specialist realises natural and rich bass reproduction without undue colouration for total enjoyment.
