    Empire Ears Bravado II CIEM

Bravado II is the sound of maturity. Two years of extra development saw Empire Ears up the resolution in all aspects at the point of entry, giving it the electrostatic treatment that yields reference detail and a tastefully linear frequency response. Lead time is 10 weeks. READ ALSO Bravado & ESR MKIIs the people's heroes from Empire Ears [See Product Desc. And iOS Lightning or Android USB-C users will enjoy Ikko's Zerda as an immediately audible upgrade. Two electrostatic driver units join the proven platform that was the original Bravado's dynamic driver and balanced armature, making this possibly Head-Fi's most compelling entry level tri-brid option.  It's no wonder Twister6 calls Bravado II "Legend X junior", Headfonics echoing it's one of the hardest-hitting releases recently. Empire Ears Evo UIEMEmpire Ears Evo UIEM

    Empire Ears Evo UIEM

Evolution, not revolution, is behind the Empire Ears push towards Evo. Head-Fi couldn't have seen the legend of Legend X just tossed out, so the addition of bone conduction ushers this flagship into a new era. It's a spectacular experience, one you can both hear and, now, feel. The tri-brid treatment happens with the addition of Weapon X: a bone conduction driver mounted in Evo's shell to complement the air conduction of two W9+ dynamic drivers and five balanced armatures, tying each performer all together. [See Product Desc. For More] Evo is the richer and more liquid counterpoint to Odin, with the same TOTL resolution. The bone conduction works as advertised, shaking things up in a shell-shaking experience that plumbs the low frequency depths, uniting the entire experience. The flagship intangibles are present. Nothing in the sound is separate from the whole. Weapon X aids in the cohesion and blending of the drivers for the real illusion of soundstage depth and height. An early-rising V-shaped response adds to the presence of vocals, particularly female, also with the help of PW Audio's mid-forward Genesis cable addressing any remaining concerns over Legend X's less vivacious, warmer tint. With the work done in Evo, it's easy to see, hear and feel why bone conduction is heralded as the next big breakthrough in personal audio. Twister6 writes "Weapon X has an audible effect", establishing Evo as a "quality bass-head IEM that can equally satisfy those who prefer consumer tunings with enhanced bass, and others who are picky audiophiles and want natural clarity". Headfonia lands Evo on its Recommended Buys shortlist for proprietary Empire Ears breakthroughs, "going to the drawing board and coming up with their own technologies and driver designs [for] a natural sound, paired with incredible technical performance and a powerful and dynamic low end that will keep you bopping your head to the rhythm". It's a bass monster with a mids and treble A-game, adds Headfonics, with the publication declaring it their Best UIEM of 2021. By stimulating hairs directly in your inner ear over the entire frequency response, Evo's Weapon X uses the natural construct of human hearing to ensure no loss in the transmission of sound, especially at the infrasonic and ultrasonic extremes. Empire Ears takes bone conduction to new heights with Weapon X. The vibrating conduit turning Evo's actual shell into a transducer is on a qualitative par with whatever's come before, with proprietary ARC (Anti-Resonance Compound) cancelling out artifacts and distortion. W10 employs a Japanese-made pure copper voice coil optimised for accuracy in frequency and transient response. The consistency of winding tension, density of enamel, adhesive application techniques, dimensions and copper compositions were all factors that were essential for linearity, ultra low distortion and efficient heat dissipation. Constructed from steel and laser welded into place, each and every variable was critical during the Empire Ears design of W10. It's an Evo take on the technology that leads bone conduction to its zenith, bringing you along for the ride. The supporting cast is as important here, with a PW Audio Genesis pure copper cable terminated in 4.4mm as standard shipping together for use with Questyle Audio's M15i. Empire Ears Odin CIEM

Empire Ears launched Odin as the cumulation of all their dreams. With development beginning in 2017, this 11-driver tri-brid pushed every boundary to firmly establish itself as the best IEM Dean and Jack Vang know how to build. Darko Audio says Odin "is really the very summit of what’s possible with portable audio”. Build time is 10 weeks. READ ALSO Odin & Hero ultimate Empire Ears successors to Zeus Tuned with a linear frequency response in mind to complement the bass-driven Legend EVO, the Odin flanks five balanced armatures with dual W9+ dynamic drivers and four electrostatic drivers for the most complete, lucid sound ever heard. [See Product Desc. Even more remarkable is that that was not done at the expense of musicality or cohesiveness; the sweetness to the voices and instruments that populate the mid-ranges of your music has to be heard to be believed.  Cayin Audio's N8II, iBasso Audio's DX240 or DX320, and HiBy Music's R5II propel the frequency gamut along with force, as the DAP of choice to drive Odin's 3ohm load. No stone was left unturned in Odin's design. From PW Audio 1960 cable inclusion to thorough acoustic and crossover engineering, this Viking god is arguably Head-Fi's most complete flagship IEM. Spectacular sound awaits below bespoke, individually unique 'Bifrost' faceplates. Praise has been pouring in: Headfonia immediately elected Odin to its shortlist of best UIEM of 2020, while Twister6 hails this monolith as "the mashup of [Empire Ears] greatest hits". Empire Ears Raven UIEMEmpire Ears Raven UIEM

    Empire Ears Raven UIEM

This was the perfect self-compliment. Empire Ears saw all they had done with their first flagship quad-brid earphone, and saw it was good. They named it Raven. Symbolising wisdom, knowledge, power and magic in Norse mythology. That's apt about this 12-driver bone conduction, dynamic driver, balanced armature and electrostatic quad-brid. Raven serves Odin in Norse mythology – even being emblazoned with the "eye of Odin" symbol on its stainless steel faceplate – but in truth the TOTL Empire Ears now answers to no one but itself.  Symbolically one of the most intelligent beings in the animal kingdom Raven proves that it's not about the parts that are used, but rather how they're used that counts. Raven is one brainiac bird whose articulation exceeds all else in Head-Fi. A raconteur, Raven is an expert at communicating everything in your music. Emotion, micro-detail, articulation, the silence between notes, cavernous space, immersion – all define its effortless presentation too, supported by a tuning tastefully propped up in the low-end for a way at doing justice with all genres of music. [See Product Desc. For More] Arguably the most novel bone conduction implementation ever, Empire Ears gift Raven one of Head-Fi's most futuristic transducers ever, alongside other tried and tested technologies for incredible results beyond 2023. Weapon X (W10) makes its appearance again here. After finding great success on its debut with Legend Evo, this Empire Ears bone conduction driver complements the air conduction of its supporting cast, giving you sound you can feel as much as you hear. W10 employs a Japanese-made pure copper voice coil optimised for accuracy in frequency and transient response, with extreme attention paid to its linearity, ultra low distortion and efficient heat dissipation. Empire Ears managed to harness even more of the awesome power of W10 in Raven with a Harmonic Resonance Core (HRC) built below its 316L stainless steel faceplate. The purpose-built HRC reverberates to W10's beat, culminating within an internal polymer basin that holds the plate. This arrangement, boosted by the metal plate, elevates the effect of bone conduction. W10's vibrations manifest tangibly, enriching the bass and treble with unprecedented depth, extension, and clarity, and thereby unifying the Raven's entire performance. It aids in the resonance, amplification, and dispersion of sound waves, synergising with other elements to achieve a distinctive sound signature and optimise Raven's acoustic performance. W10's earth-shaking performance indeed amplifies the performance of the premium dynamic driver, balanced armature and electrostatic components Empire Ears chose for Raven. With one bone conductor performing for so many drivers, the SPL demands on the other cast members was lessened – Raven's effortless presentation is empowered by the minimal distortion of drivers being over-taxed. Dual Weapon 9+ dynamic woofers for low-frequencies can stick to their assigned range without needing to overcompensate as they get propped up by W10. And Raven's balanced armatures and electostatics particularly benefit as the reduced need to produce SPL leads to less distortion and an edge-less body to their detail. Raven is a show of Empire Ears maturity and is possible also because of the state of maturity the Head-Fi ecosystem is at. DAC/amp and music player sources show up in abundance to drive Raven's very difficult 2ohm load. It starts as simply as Questyle Audio's M15i, with this flagship current-mode DAC/amp ever happier as a voltage source the more it detects a dead short. And the potent output devices of HiBy Music's Class A entry R6III and R6 Pro II are more than up to the task despite their budget status. And then there are the discrete DAC music players which output plenty of juice. Cayin's DSD N7 with its 5 ampere output devices, and HiBy's PWM R8II plus R2R RS8 with inductor power supplies and large, paralleled transistors, promise natural tone, gravitas, soundstage and imaging for audio fireworks.  Because Raven is the party that brings all of Head-Fi together; and also every Empire Ears technology – synX crossovers, EIVEC II electrostats, ARC anti-resonance compound, tri-port exhaust vents – under one roof. Whet your appetites for Raven with every other Empire Ears release here, or view all our other earphones here.
